Shit

20111122-163121.jpg

There is so much shit in the world. It blows my mind. So many bottoms. Where does it go? It must get incinerated. I know it gets filtered out of our water and turned into bio-manure. Pumped into oceans and rivers. Shipped off to space? I doubt that.
With a population of 7 billion and rising are we about to be shitted into the dark ages? Is this the apoooooocalypse? I say pack what tinned goods you can and find a safe place to shelter from corn. This is big!

Dog Talk

20111118-172409.jpg

Being the proud owner of a blue eyed dog I get approached regularly. I have built up a huge dislike for owner to owner conversation regarding the contacts over my doggies cornea. I don’t just get annoyed by rhetorical questions directed to me regarding my dog!!! Oh no it’s the general poppy cock that humans fumble over in their 2 question cross examination during their daily walk. It really bothers me. Automatic pilot! I am sure that there is little connection or memory to the dog or walker after the passing so what’s the point. Unless of course you are Roger and Anita then you are the exception!
I also don’t think we need to talk to dogs by babying them. I believe they understand more than we think. They are just acting dumb in an effort to take of the world!!

Well that was silly

Its Back!!

Here goes something…

I have decided to blog again.

This is now going to be my cooking blog. A place that we can trade recipes and discuss our favorite utensils. A place where we can divulge about what over whipping  can do to a flan (BIG NO NO people)! A place where we can be comfortable to indulge in a sweet life as we make our journey through the history of the oven to the now present flambé. We will be cranking up the heat to 250 Celsius, (482 Fahrenheit) but will never leave you feeling too hot…

Ok so its clearly not going to be a cooking blog but I will be keeping you up to date with news regarding shows and updating you on some of my thoughts and progress of the album so keep checking back if you want!

5,4,3,2,1 GO!

It’s Tough…

It’s been very tough keeping this up to date. I get so engulfed in the tour it’s hard to find time and Internet to update this. When I get home I will refocus and turn this into somewhere people want to go.

Best

Tour So Far

20110507-034441.jpg

It’s an special feeling turning up to cities that you have no ties too and finding connections with people through music. I know I know… It sounds a little hippy but it’s true. “The Power of music maaaan”

I’m with incredible people. My band are working hard. My tour manager works hard. I work hard.
Ontario was great. We kicked off in Ottawa and had lots and lots of family there. It was the perfect way to start this “Minor Tour” off. We had a wonderful group of guys called The Treasures tour with us for 5 shows and we were a great compliment to each others sound.
Some shows have been busy and some not so busy. Obviously when there is a loud and receptive audience it is easier and more natural to jump around and fully give what I am capable of, however even if there are 3 people in the audience and the mood is right then it’s just as satisfying.

New York was fantastic. My mother, my sister, my manager and some childhood friends were there. Jos and Dom are the brothers of a very close friend I have had since 8 and they came out and surprised me. Seb my friend and their brother is now a diving instructor in Thailand and we hardly speak but… Love is still there.
Singing with my sister grace is obviously a joy and pleasure. I LOVE MY LITTLE SISTER.
We parked our giant RV on a small street in little Italy for 2 days. It’s not too big but we dwarfed the streets of soho. We had a few encounters with police as we had a suspicious “eyesore” in the middle of the city but said the engine was playing up and we were working on fixing it. We got away with no tickets!!

I know it’s scattered but Im doing this on my phone!!! Providence was last night and we continue to meet inspiring people along the way.

I love playing music. That’s all there is too it and now that I have this first post out of the way I will try to update this regularly!!

All the best & happy mothers day

Make The Difference

A friend of mine told me about this a few weeks ago… Well being a huge football fan myself, I instantly related to this short film. I recognize the power sport has in communities and also for individuals. I also support underdogs which is why Manchester United will be the team I truly love until I die, even though I hide behind Tottenham.

I started playing football very late in my childhood as neither of my parents were particularly into team sports. Fit yes but team sports No. I can hear my mothers voice now telling me that wasn’t true but sprinting next to my sister on HER sportsday screaming COME ON as far as I know… is NOT a team sport!

My father (more of a muscle man type) took me to the park at about 8 years old to collect conkers. As we patrolled the path for fallen gems my eyes and ears were distracted by the father/son football match taking place 20 feet away. I asked my dad if we could join. He himself declined but said he would ask if I could play. The answer was “OF COURSE” that kid is going to be a successful musician one day… We want to play with him!!

I quickly ran on to the field shuffling between strangers. Fast forward—–> It was the last few minutes of the game and the score was 9 – 9. FOUL. Its a penalty. Shouts of let the new kid take it were coming from all over the park. I place the ball down, kicked and scored and from that moment I was hooked. I had found the love of my life.

It took me 2 years from that point to be captain of my school team and few more months to enroll in the Fulham FC youth set up. I played at a high level until I was 15 when drinking and a social life (girls) took over. I dropped out and played at a lower level for a year longer finding a new love for the game… but that was easy as I was the top scorer on my team.

Well I play football once a year now and I still think I have it… but I dont and am also a lover of the game though not its merchandise and with a closet full of old kits and memorabilia I think its time for a trip to the charity shop to give to people that need.
